Job Responsibilities:
Identify, understand and document our clients' networking and outsourcing requirements; provide design support during the bid phase where required and post contract
Produce cost-effective technical solutions in order to achieve HCL’s objectives
Responsible for ensuring that the produced network designs are in alignment with networks strategy and are current and fit for purpose.
Produce network design documents both High Level Designs (HLD) & Low Level Designs (LLDs) in accordance with the agreed network design architecture
Network implementation & support activities
Self-driven professional able to handle technical/team escalations
Define and Champion the use of Technical Standards, Procedures and Best Practice
Provide input to the recruitment of resources required to meet future demands for delivering against planned goals and objectives of Infrastructure
Skills Requirement:
Technical Skills:
Should have detailed technical understanding on routing and switching (specifically EIGRP, OSPF, BGP).
Expert in Switching and Routing & wireless LAN.
Should have detailed technical understanding, deployment and support of multicast, QoS, NAT, Routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP ) in an enterprise environment.
Should have knowledge of WAN technologies like Leased Lines, MPLS
should have worked and needed hands on experience on cisco ISE, wireless, Riverbed, Wireless LAN.
Should have worked upon Mcafee epo, bluecoat technologies with hands on troubleshooting experience.
Detailed knowledge at design level of all major components of network infrastructure used within the data networking (Layer-2 & 3).
Proven experience in designing and implementing large and complex network solutions
Knowledgeable about existing best practices for network technology integration
Aware of the history of networks and can explain how it came to be as it is
Solid knowledge of all the major components in a vendor's solution
Can see the "bigger picture" view of a complex network & break it down to smaller, manageable modules
Strong desire to learn & catch up with new products, technologies & services in the field of data networking
In depth knowledge of the 802.x range of IEEE layer 2 protocols, including convergence mechanisms such as STP, RSTP, MST. Working knowledge of other L2 technologies like HDLC, FR, ATM, PPP, LAG, LACP etc
Thorough knowledge of the layer 3 TCPIP protocol Suite, VLSM, IP address allocation and RIPv2, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP routing protocols, Multicast protocols like PIM, SSM & IGRP.
Quality of Service for both LAN & WAN environments.
Skills with diagnostic tools including the output from network management systems, router and switch diagnostics
Soft Skills:
Effective inter-personal, leadership, communication and presentation skills; and ability to work within / lead technical teams
Adept at influencing others even when position is not initially shared by others (e.g. is able to bring evidence to convince others)
Challenges way of operating with a focus on pragmatism; encourages, solicits and rewards innovative ideas; delegates, coordinates and motivates teams into reaching challenging goals
Experience & Accreditations:
5+ Years of experience minimum
Relevant experience preferable in the area of large scale& complex network design
Must have professional experience in Telecom/Networking/System Integration company
Experience in working for global Telco for enterprise network design is desirable
Professional Level industry standard certifications like CCDP, CCNP, CCIP, JNCIS or similar certifications in data networking
Understanding in ITIL and process
Multi-vendor environment experience
